I have known Robert directly and continuously for twenty years.

He has serviced a boiler for my family. He has looked after plumbing across a property portfolio. What follows is first-hand observation over that period. It is not a secondhand testimonial.

Robert has spent those twenty years in the trade. Before this page, he had never had a website, a trade directory listing or an advertisement.

Robert's reputation did not begin with Robert.

His grandfather taught plumbing at the technical high school in the area. Other plumbers came to him when they wanted an apprentice recommended. They were, in practice, asking for first pick of the people entering the trade.

Robert's own twenty years of work sit on top of that inherited position. They do not stand apart from it.

Robert does not compete for jobs that several plumbers can do.

He takes the jobs other plumbers refuse outright.

“That is beyond me.”

Those are the jobs passed to him. He takes them on when he is certain he can do them correctly.

His principal work is high-value underfloor heating installation. The systems run into five and six figures. They are installed in properties where the plumbing forms part of the finish, rather than arriving as a maintenance callout.

Exposed copper pipework is finished to be looked at.

It is left as a visible record of the work.

The same discipline applies to the parts that disappear. An underfloor system is cased in concrete when the installation is complete. Nobody checks it afterwards. Robert checks it while it can still be checked.

Robert is Gas Safe registered and qualified in vented systems.

These are qualifications he holds. They are not the business he runs. He is not a routine gas-certificate plumber.

Robert does not write estimates. His rate is his rate.

He is not cheap. Developers and landlords who use him know that before the work starts. They price accordingly. They do not negotiate him down because they know he is fair.

Punctuality is fixed. If early is possible, he takes it. He is never late.

Robert is fully booked through referral and recommendation.

People who use him tend not to share his contact details. They do that deliberately. They want to keep him available to themselves.

WhatsApp is the only contact route.
